Contra dance taster sessions

We’ll be running some contra dance ‘taster sessions’ as part of several community festivals across Sheffield over summer. Aimed at those who are new to contra dance, one of our friendly callers will talk you through the basics and lead some easy, fun contra dances, with live music to dance to!

If you’ve done some contra dance before, you’re also welcome to come and brush up on the basics or practise dancing the role you don’t usually dance.

Come along on your own, with a partner or with friends. It’s usual to dance with different people (if you wish to), so you don’t need to bring a partner. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes. Drinking water provided, also bring your own drinks if you wish.

Tickets available on the door, no advance booking required.

We recommend these events for adults and children/teens of secondary school age.
